Polysilicon Engineering Technology Research Center of Henan (hereinafter referred to as "Polysilicon Engineering Center") was approved by the Department of Science and Technology of Henan Province in June 2007 (YKJ [2007] No. 10), and has been completed and put into use since December 2007.
After continuous construction and development, the Polysilicon Engineering Center has built chlorosilane separation and purification platform, silicon tetrachloride hydrogenation platform, polysilicon reduction platform, polysilicon high-purity post-treatment platform, reduction off-gas dry recovery platform, silicon-based electronic gas test platform, optical fiber silicon tetrachloride test platform and testing and analysis center. Among them, the testing and analysis center has passed CMA certification and CNAS accreditation, and can provide 56 professional testing services related to silicon materials. There are nearly 200 sets of large-scale equipment for polysilicon experiments and special testing instruments for high-purity materials, with 135 technicians and management personnel, including 80 intermediate and senior researchers.
The Polysilicon Engineering Center aims to "create an R&D platform for production process and equipment technology, detection and analysis technology of high-purity semiconductor materials and new energy materials with focus on polysilicon; as well as to become a source of technological innovation for SINOSICO and a cradle for domestic polysilicon technical talents". Based on the urgent demand of polysilicon material industry for preparation technology with low unit consumption, high quality and clean production, and guided by independent innovation, absorption innovation and integrated innovation of key technologies, it has carried out research on core technologies, key process technologies and key equipment of polysilicon, as well as R&D of strategic and forward-looking new theories, new technologies, new processes and new equipment that may guide the optimization and upgrading of polysilicon industrial structure, cultivated innovative talents in industrial engineering technology and promoted the application of major scientific and technological achievements; it provides core technical support for large-scale, low-unit-consumption, high-quality and clean production and preparation technology of polysilicon materials in China, as well as technical services for the domestic polysilicon industry.
Since its establishment, it has successively completed nearly 100 national 863 program projects, national key technology R&D program projects, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, applied for more than 100 patents, and obtained multiple awards including the National Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as science and technology awards from provincial, municipal, and industry associations. It has a number of polysilicon production processes and equipment system technologies with independent intellectual property rights, breaking the technical blockade and market monopoly of the United States, Japan, Germany and other countries, promoting the high-tech industrialization process of polycrystalline silicon as a national priority, and promoting the development of the electronic information industry and solar photovoltaic power generation industry. With the strong support of superior leading units and supporting units, the Center has become a domestic leading R&D platform for polysilicon preparation engineering technology, a cradle of domestic polysilicon technical personnel training, and a source of enterprise technological innovation.
